Data & Transparency

All options data is sourced from Alpaca Markets' OPRA-backed feed. Implied volatility and Greeks are computed using Black-Scholes-Merton pricing with continuous dividend yields. We use the indicative feed, which can lag real-time by up to 15 minutes during high volatility — this site is for analysis, not execution.

The Technology

Option Chain Live runs on Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, and modern web standards. Pages are server-rendered for instant first paint and SEO; live updates flow over a tiny JSON API. It's designed to be fast, reliable, and accessible on any device.
